About

The original site was designed by Thomas Standen in 1816. The site was self sufficient and had its own water supply, church and farm.

In 1999, Gleeson Developments acquired the site and started the enormous task of converting the site and the Grade II listed buildings.

The result was various sympathetically converted Grade II listed buildings, a Piazza with a central fountain feature, and a mixture of modern houses all surrounded by mature trees and open space. The development won the Lancaster Design Award 2000.
